Seletti's history started in local Italian markets
Seletti was founded in 1964 when Romano Seletti imported tin cups, plastic tablecloths, straw mats and more from the Far East and sold them in small local markets in Italy. Stefano Seletti started in his father's business when he was just 17 and is now the owner of the distinctive brand. He quickly developed his own ideas, which mainly involved replacing ordinary everyday objects with unusual and decorative objects.
Since its inception, Seletti has been constantly evolving, but has stuck to the mission of making the most of professionalism, service and endless product research. Striving for improvement, innovation and originality, designers connect everyday objects with experimental and bold design.
Stefano loves his work and takes it home, where he and his wife have decorated a colorful home with an extravagant selection of Seletti products.
Among Seletti's most successful lamps is Monkey designed by Marcantonio Raimondi Malerba. It is an excellent example of decorative design with personality and humor. The little monkey with a light bulb in his hand keeps us company while expressing our wish for a happy and carefree everyday life.
