Louis Poulsen launches several exclusive anniversary lamps - PH Snowball and Panthella 160 Portable

In celebration of Louis Poulsen's 150th anniversary, the iconic design house has expanded their Anniversary Collection with two unique special editions, including PH Snowball Anniversary Edition Matt White/Pale Rose and Panthella 160 Portable Anniversary Edition Brass Metalized/Opal White. These new additions, launched in 2024, are created to celebrate the rich history of the design house and pay tribute to two of the most significant Scandinavian designers, Poul Henningsen and Verner Panton.

Designed by Poul Henningsen in 1958, the PH Snowball was first exhibited at the Danish Museum of Decorative Arts (now Designmuseum Danmark) as part of the exhibition "Glass, Light and Color". With its spherical silhouette, consisting of eight shades, the PH Snowball offers an exceptional glare-free light that Henningsen always strived to create. The anniversary version presents a beautiful matt white outer surface combined with discreet light pink reflective sides and a brass frame. This combination gives the lamp a warm and luxurious look that over time will take on a beautiful patina, adding character to the lamp. The PH Snowball Anniversary Edition will be produced in a limited batch of 600 pieces globally, of which 300 are reserved for Europe. Each lamp will be individually numbered and engraved with "Europe" on shade 4, making each unit unique.

Originally designed in 1971, Verner Panton's Panthella has become a design classic with its soft, organic shape and functional light emission. The Panthella 160 Portable Anniversary Edition is a compact, portable version of Panton's iconic design. With a shade of only 160 mm in diameter and a top nut in metallized brass, this lamp combines elegance with mobility. The internal reflector is white, ensuring a pleasant and uniform light emission through the transparent opal diffuser. This makes the Panthella 160 Portable ideal for use around the home, where it can add both style and functionality.

Both anniversary lamps are presented in an elegant Matt White/Pale Rose color combination with polished brass details that will develop a beautiful patina over time. These warm metallic tones add a vintage touch that beautifully complements any home decor and emphasizes the lamps' aesthetic value. Earlier this year, Louis Poulsen also launched other anniversary versions, including a new PH Artichoke pendant in sizes Ø480 and Ø600, a PH 5 pendant by Poul Henningsen, and an AJ Mini table lamp by Arne Jacobsen. The new Panthella Portable and PH Snowball lamps now join this iconic collection, which celebrates Louis Poulsen's 150-year heritage with style and elegance.
