The PH 5 Pendant Lamp Anniversary Matt White/Pale Rose was designed in 1958 by Poul Henningsen (1894-1967), a pioneer in lighting design who devoted most of his life to taming electric light.
The world-famous PH 5 was designed as a response to the continuous changes that the incandescent bulb underwent in terms of shape and size. Regardless of how the lamp is installed and which light source is used, the PH 5 is completely glare-free.
To celebrate the 60th anniversary of this timeless icon, Louis Poulsen has launched the PH 5 in the same exciting colour palette as the PH 5 Mini, which at 30 cm in diameter is a scaled-down version of the original 50 cm PH 5 introduced in 2017.
The PH 5 is available in a wide range of beautiful colours and the different colour tones of the lamp's five lampshades create a dynamic graduated effect, which enhances the visual impact of the pendant.
In honour of Louis Poulsen's 150th anniversary, they have launched a number of unique special editions of design icons from Poul Henningsen and Arne Jacobsen, including the AJ Mini Table Lamp, PH 5 Pendant Lamp and PH Artichoke Pendant Lamp in sizes Ø480 and Ø600. All anniversary versions come in a unique Matt White/Pale Rose colour combination with beautiful polished brass details that will patinate over time, giving the lamp its own unique character. The anniversary lamps are exclusively available in 2024 and come in a limited batch - the PH Artichoke is only available in 300 units in both sizes with an individual number engraved on the 5th leaf.
