Luceplan was born in 1978 when the people behind Luceplan wanted something more tangible than what until then was just a collaboration.
Riccardo Sarfatti, Paolo Rizzatto and Sandra Severi had now created Luceplan as a focal point for their creative energies and innovative solutions driven by the desire for development and innovation.
All this is wrapped in both beautiful and highly sustainable design from Luceplan, which today is part of the Philips Group.
Luceplan is built around the following theses:
1. Attention to detail - Keeping track of the necessary spare part, maintenance or cleaning will increase the lifespan of the product.
2. Life cycle design - Designing beyond the creation of a product, considering what happens after use through disposal and recycling and innovative packaging.
3. Respect for the environment - No polluting paints and processes are used, all of which help to reduce environmental impact.
4. Research and development - Research and development is an integral part of Luceplan
It is important to look ahead and understand consumer behavior and the changes occurring in industrial production, raw material procurement, optimizations, savings, changes in distribution and purchasing patterns and needs so Luceplan is always on the cutting edge.
Energy saving is a top priority and cannot be limited to the relationship between lighting and energy consumption: it must include environmental friendliness that spans the entire operation - from material selection to the manufacturing process, from product durability to product maintenance.
If you produce products with a long lifespan, you need them to be beautiful as well as technologically sound. But longevity also means it's more environmentally friendly and survives the vagaries of fashion.
