Chandeliers - Classic and state-of-the-art
CHANDELIERSHistory goes way back - The first chandelier dates back to the Middle Ages and was a very simple version with wax candles on a wooden cross that was hoisted to the ceiling. By the end of the Middle Ages, experimentation with ring and metal suspensions had begun, and chandeliers became the preserve of the rich and noble. By the end of the 17th century, chandeliers had become large, ornate, golden and with lots of light sources, and were donated to churches by the nobility. Many of the old chandeliers are still there today, reminiscent of the old days. Later, prismatic chandeliers were added and today we see many of the older prismatic chandeliers in old theaters and museums. From wooden crosses to baroque brass chandeliers to today - anything goes! Today, a chandelier is no longer a 7-armed, romantic, heavy and intricate affair, but can be both simple and delicate, but also oversized and crazy. They can add edge and character to your home and be a focal point for your decor.
Gino Sarfatti has designed this stunning chandelier for Flos, and has managed to fuse a classic chandelier with something new and different. With either 30 or 50 LED light sources, the chandelier beautifully illuminates the dining table, hallway or perhaps the living room? It's actually 60 years since the lamp was designed, and in this anniversary year, it has been launched in a new black color, so it now fits into any home.

Hayley 9 Pendant Clear/Chrome from Lucande
Bring extraordinary elegance into your home! From Lucande comes the top model in the Hayley series, the Hayley 9 pendant! Hayley 9 is actually a cluster pendant, but in its exclusivity and beautiful design, it is definitely close to a chandelier. As the name suggests, the lamp has 9 light sources - but is available with fewer if desired - and the nine light sources are housed in nine round glass domes that are cleverly coated with a chrome plating to prevent glare.
