It all started with bicycle parts
Blomus is a German family-owned company founded in 1921. Today it's run by the 4th generation, but the values are the same as when the company started, and that's the key to their success. *"If you don't know your past, you will get lost in the future," said Willo Blome, CEO.
Back in 1921, the company only produced bicycle parts, but in 1961 the family changed tack and started selling design items that were locally produced. Throughout its existence, the company has been located in Sundern, Germany, home to a large steel and coal industry.
The year 2000 was the year when the big shift took place and Blomus got its name. This was the beginning of the company we know today. It's clear that the Blome family has great business acumen, and this is one of the cornerstones of the success the company has achieved, along with a respect for genuine materials, clean forms and a passionate approach to design and operations.
