Coolicon Lamps
The first Coolicon lamp was produced in 1933 in London and has since been loved and seen in various scenes throughout time; at the Royal Air Force, in town halls and in the corridors of power. The lamp has become particularly well known in the London Underground, where it was used in back rooms and the ticket office - where some of the lamps still hang.
After disappearing in the 1980s, Coolicon Lighting has restarted production of the classic and original Coolicon Lampshade. Made of enameled iron in a range of beautiful and stylish colors, the lamp has an elegant yet industrial look. The pendants are available both with and without Underground map and in two different sizes.

The Coolicon pendant was designed to provide efficient light in Britain's workshops and factories. With its two "holes" in the top of the lamp, it helped reduce convention heat by 40% as heat was able to escape upwards instead of downwards - a relief for those toiling in heavy industry. Today, the Coolicon lamp is still produced in England and is completely faithful to the original. The clean lines and enameled surface are available in a variety of colors.
As the industrial style has found its way into private homes, the lamp has become popular again. Underground Map and Coolicon's shared history
Anyone who has traveled in the London Underground is familiar with the Underground map. A map that brought order to the extensive network and has since spread beyond the streets of London. The well-known map was designed by British technical draughtsman - Harry Beck, who at the time worked at the Signal office in the London Underground.
Like the first Coolicon lamp, the cards were first produced in 1933. The shared history and the commuter's appearance in the London Underground has inspired the Coolicon lampshade, where the underground map is displayed in all its glory - either on top of the screen or inside. Due to its historical relationship with London Transport, Coolicon Lighting is the only company in the world to license the original Harry Beck map.
