Ferm Living is based in Copenhagen, from where they work with craftsmen all over the world. They create furniture, accessories and lamps with a longing for a life in balance, where there is room for both chaos and calm, time for reflection and happy moments. Their biggest ambition is, and has been since the beginning, to inspire people to create the space that makes them feel comfortable in their own home.
From wallpaper to Ferm Living
The whole story behind Ferm Living started with wallpaper - or rather the lack of it. The year was 2005 and company founder and creative director Trine Andersen had just moved into a house with her husband. They simply couldn't find a wallpaper that suited their taste and Trine decided to make her own. It quickly turned into 10 different wallpapers, which they exhibited at a trade fair in Denmark - however, there wasn't enough money to produce all ten, so it started with one wallpaper and a handful of prints.
It was the start of Ferm Living, which quickly grew bigger than they ever imagined. Today, the company has a large number of skilled employees and a large product portfolio of furniture, home accessories and lamps that continues to evolve.
