Gino Sarfatti was an Italian designer who spent most of his career working with and studying lighting, and the crowning achievement of his long career is the 2097 lamp, which revolutionized the design world with its innovation at the time and still stands today as one of the most iconic chandeliers on the market. To keep up with the times, Flos has relaunched the chandelier for its 10th anniversary in a gorgeous new limited edition in matte black to fit into the classic Scandinavian home with minimalism, sustainability and good style all around.
The 2097 will love a room with high ceilings and an unobstructed view all around, but can of course also have a more low-ceilinged location. Either way, it will look great in any home. The eccentric and elegant appearance of the Flos 2097 chandelier is mainly due to the many light sources held together by the slender arms. Every detail was thought of when Gino Sarfatti designed it in 1958. The sharp details combined in a well-organized chaos shows a designer with an innovative approach to lighting design. The modern interpretation of the traditional chandelier has a clean industrial look that fits into any contemporary interior design style. The mirrored frame holds either 18, 30, 50 or 75 light sources that emit a beautiful indirect light into the surroundings.
