A long-term collaboration between Italian lighting brand Flos and designer Michael Anastassiades began in 2014. This has resulted in, among other things, the extremely elegant and expressive series of IC lamps. The beautiful and bold IC lamps are designed with inspiration from a video of a juggler balancing balls on his arms and hands. Perfectly balanced on the slender stand, the lamp's spherical shade reproduces the moment when the juggler magically balances balls on the tips of his fingers. An atmospheric lamp that fits into both classic and modern interiors.
Italian brand Flos is known for their quality, innovative products and designs that are stylish and elegant. In other words, Flos particularly lives up to the Italian seal of quality "Made In Italy." Their designs challenge the common understanding of form and function while staying within an aesthetically beautiful expression.
Michael Anastassiades is the epitome of elegance and innovation in beautiful combination. With a background from the Royal College of Art in London and his own design studio, he has solid experience. Anastassiades was fascinated by Flos' amazing lighting even in his youth. He grew up in a small town in Cyprus where there was a shop selling lamps and lighting. He often went there to admire the many lights of the Italian brand. The collaboration with Flos in 2014 was almost a culmination of many years of work with lighting and design. His designs fit easily into the Flos range, where the lamps are full of expression and atmosphere through bold material choices and prominent design. Anastassiades' work is currently featured in permanent exhibitions around the world and can be seen at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, Art Institute of Chicago, Victoria & Albert Museum in London and MAK in Vienna.
