Extraordinary lamps, fabulous lighting and imaginative furniture have been sneaking out of Ingo Maurer since the mid-1960s. The company covers both its own lines but also Ingo's own team and outside designers are responsible for these cool creations.
And now, some five decades later, Ingo Maurer and the team (whom he affectionately refers to as colleagues) have steadily grown to over 60 people. For a long time the address was the same in Schwabing in Munich, which since 1970 was a farm at Kaiserstrasse 47. When these production facilities were finally outgrown in 2005, production and shipping moved to new premises on the outskirts of Munich. The old address was reborn as an exciting and spacious showroom where Ingo Maurer and his team have paid attention to every detail.
The project department has undergone a steady and exciting development, where today they handle the design of exhibitions for fairs, parties and the special, even quirky, installations in the YaYaHo lighting system.
Ingo Maurer handles tasks ranging from lighting to complete interior illumination planning, taking care of even the smallest details. In addition to the sale of core products, these project assignments are not only a big part of the business, but also help to keep creativity in high gear, as these challenges empower and inspire at a high level.
Ingo Maurer projects are approached both uniquely and directly, adapting to both the space itself but also to the users. This gives Ingo Maurer and his team opportunities and challenges as ideas are realized in artistic installations and lighting projects around the world.
Aesthetics are highly valued and throughout the years Ingo Maurer has worked closely with the photographers who have taken pictures of the lamps, which shows that even the smallest details are not left to chance.
We are very pleased that we now have many of the exciting lights from Ingo Maurer in our showroom in Ringkøbing and look forward to spreading the word about them.
