Panthella
The Panthella lamp series is based on the Panthella table lamp from 1971. Renowned designer Verner Panton, wanted to create a lamp with organic shapes that reflected light not only in the lampshade but also in the base. The result speaks for itself - the entire range now consists of the table lamp in different sizes, the Panthella floor lamp and the newest member: Panthella Portable. The lamp's pleasant diffused light can be used throughout the home. The floor lamp fits perfectly in both living rooms and bedrooms, where the elegant and soft look gives the lamp a timeless quality. The iconic table lamp looks beautiful on any table or dresser. If you want it on a shelf or windowsill, you have the option of a Panthella Mini or the rechargeable Panthella Portable, which is easily carried around the home.
Panthella Table Lamp - 1971
In 1971, Panton developed the dome-shaped Panthella in collaboration with Louis Poulsen. A design that, with its organic shapes, reflects the light in the lampshade and lamp base, sending the soft light 360 degrees out into the room. The Panthella table lamp is still one of Verner Panton's most famous lamps. With a height of 58 centimeters and a diameter of 40 centimeters, the lamp fits perfectly on a dresser or small table. In the 1950s and 1960s, most Danish architects and designers worked with wood and other natural materials. Verner Panton had a penchant for new materials, such as steel, plastic, plexiglass and fiberglass. His work with materials made him a pioneer in the field of design, along with his use of organic shapes.
Panthella Floor Lamp - 1971
The floor lamp was also launched in 1971, has a height of 130 centimeters and a diameter of 50 centimeters. Similar to the table lamp, the lamp provides beautiful room lighting. Place it by the sofa or armchair for a comfortable reading light.
Panthella Mini - 2016
To celebrate the 90th anniversary of Panton's birth (1926-1998), Louis Poulsen chose to launch the Panthella Mini table lamp. Mini Panthella is a scaled-down version of Panton's original design and at 25 centimeters in diameter, it is a very versatile lamp. It was produced with a metal screen, which was Panton's original wish, but for technical reasons that option was not available in 1971. The metal shade is lacquered in various eye-catching colors based on Verner Panton's last project from 1998 "Light and Color", which was exhibited at Trapholt in Kolding. The mini version is also available with the classic acrylic screen. The iconic design has been updated with LED technology but remains true to the original drawings.
Panthella Portable - 2020
The latest and very special addition to the family, the Panthella Portable LED Table Lamp, is a small portable table lamp with a height of just 23 centimeters. The classic design is combined with the modern trend of cordless products winning in everyday life. This means you can take the soft light around your home wherever you need a temporary light - without being dependent on a power outlet.
Verner Panton's original and imaginative design language was expressed in a multitude of ways from his many inventive chairs to his iconic lamps, ranging from the cheerful flowerpot to the classic, clean Panthella lamp. Although he was a man of his time, in many ways he was also ahead of his time - which is clearly reflected in his lamps.
