At a time when designers like Arne Jacobsen and Hans Wegner dominated and used natural materials and simple design language, Verner Panton's focus on man-made materials and fast production was unheard of for its time, and Verner Panton's goal of bringing more color to the world succeeded. But the Verner Panton lamp above them all has to be the Globe lamp! The Globe is unique and futuristic, yet classic and stylish. It's sophisticated, it's hand-assembled and it's just insanely beautiful and a true design icon! Today, Globe lamps are produced by the company Verpan.
Globe lamps are hand-assembled at Verpan's factory in Horsens, Denmark, and there are only two ladies in the world who are certified to assemble Globe lamps. Each Globe lamp is engraved with a serial number and Verner Panton's signature, and each box contains a signed document of authenticity. All to ensure the high quality and authenticity of your Globe Lamp.
The Verner Panton Globe comes in 8 different variants and will look amazing wherever you hang it! The globe consists of an acrylic outer shell, 2 large plates, 2 small plates and a center that holds the bulb.
The original Globe has a blue top, red bottom and steel center, but today the Globe is also available in a version with white glass plates and white cord. In 2017, an anniversary edition with a brass center was also launched, which has become very popular. Last but certainly not least, the Panto Globe is the latest design in the Globe series, offering a more direct downward light, but with the same look and design language as its famous big brother.
