Vilhelm Lauritzen, in collaboration with Louis Poulsen, designed all the lamps for Radiohuset in Frederiksberg. Lauritzen was a master in the art of combining materials and light, and he worked all his life to further develop and improve his lamps, which were in perfect harmony with the buildings he designed.
His designs include Radiohuset in Frederiksberg (1937-46), Folkets Hus in Vesterbro (now Vega, 1935-56) and a now disused terminal building at Copenhagen Airport (1937-39), all of which are now listed buildings. He has also designed buildings such as Daells Varehus (the current Hotel Sankt Petri) in the city center (1935), Gladsaxe City Hall (1937), Shellhuset (1950-51) and the Danish Embassy in Washington D.C. (1960), and contributed to TV City in Gladsaxe (1959) and Copenhagen Airport Terminal 2.
