What is typical of industrial design?
Much of the inspiration for industrial design comes from industrial buildings - warehouses, factories and workshops. Industrial design is therefore still associated with large, open spaces that we know from factories, but it doesn't have to be that way. Today, the industrial look can be created with furniture, objects and especially lamps that embrace the popular style, including materials such as raw or black painted metal, wood in warm colors and concrete - not only as design objects, but also as flooring or as cladding on one or more walls in the room. In lighting, when we think of vintage lamps, we often refer to something old and fine. In the context of 'industrial vintage', oxidized or raw materials such as brass and copper are often used. Over time, the untreated surface will acquire a unique patina, giving it that familiar 'old' vintage look.
