Industrial Lamps

Industrial-style lamps and lighting have really found their way into interior design, especially complimenting Scandinavian decor. The style adds soul and personality to the room, while giving the overall look a creative twist.

Industrial style is often associated with large, open warehouses and factories, but it doesn't have to be that way. Thanks to visible screws, joints and grids, mechanical joints and choice of material, there is now a wide range of home interiors that add an industrial touch to a room - especially industrial lamps and lighting. Find your favorite in our selection of industrial lamps and lighting.

What is typical of industrial design?

Much of the inspiration for industrial design comes from industrial buildings - warehouses, factories and workshops. Industrial design is therefore still associated with large, open spaces that we know from factories, but it doesn't have to be that way. Today, the industrial look can be created with furniture, objects and especially lamps that embrace the popular style, including materials such as raw or black painted metal, wood in warm colors and concrete - not only as design objects, but also as flooring or as cladding on one or more walls in the room. Stainless steel in the kitchen and brick walls in the living room also give the room an industrial feel, reminiscent of raw factories. So whatever the architecture or status of your home, workplace or restaurant, you can always integrate the industrial style.

In lighting, industrial lamp design has crept into many different collections. You'll find a wide range of lamps in both raw and painted metals, such as the classic workshop pendant. Lamps with visible details such as screws, grids and mechanical joints are also an industrial hit, and large lamps in particular add extra drama to a room. Combine the lamp with a light source that has a warm light to give the room a cozy and comfortable lighting.

Beautiful pendants for the industrial look

The pendant often has a central and eye-catching position in a room. As a result, it can quickly impact the overall impression. With an industrial pendant light, you're well on your way. Choose a lamp inspired by the traditional industrial lamp. Take the unique Coolicon pendants or the Workshop pendant from Made By Hand, both oozing with soul and history and available in a wide range of modern shades.

Industrial ceiling light for any room

The traditional ceiling light or plafond is often used to provide good ambient lighting, but it can do much more than that. The industrial ceiling light is available as a flat lamp mounted on the ceiling, for example the Bridge series from Envostar. This unique interpretation of the ceiling light has a distinctly industrial look with the metal grid surrounding the wood and the exposed bulbs.

Another type of industrial ceiling light is the popular lamps from Lampe Gras. The simple design features arms, bodies, brackets and mechanical joints that give the lamp its industrial look. Originally designed for industry in 1927, Lampe Gras lamps are unique with their simplicity, robust construction and ergonomic design. Today, the Lampe Gras ceiling light is often used above the workspace in the office or kitchen, while also serving as an industrial alternative to the classic pendant light above the dining table.

Vintage industrial

When we talk about industrial design, we can't avoid the term 'vintage'. Vintage is often associated with something that is old and fine. The word originally comes from the world of wine, where vintage wines in English are referred to as vintage. More recently, the term has also been applied to clothing, furniture and interiors, where most people have come across the word at one point or another. In lighting, when we think of vintage lamps, we often refer to something old and fine. In the context of 'industrial vintage', oxidized or raw materials such as brass and copper are often used. Over time, the untreated surface will acquire a unique patina, giving it that familiar 'old' vintage look.

Bring the style into your home with the industrial wall light from Lampe Gras, available in a version with a raw copper shade. Combined with the mechanical joints and its simple and ergonomic shape, the lamp is an obvious choice if you want an industrial touch, as a reading light in the bedroom or in connection with the workspace in your kitchen.
