The AJ 50 outdoor wall lamp was released in 2010 in connection with the 50-year-anniversary of the launch of Arne Jacobsen’s AJ collection. The AJ 50 lamp was based on the AJ family, originally designed in 1960 for the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen (now the Radisson Collection Hotel, Royal Copenhagen) and developed with the intention of solving outdoor illumination tasks in the world-renowned AJ design. At the same time, the designers wanted to use the latest energy-saving light source technology, which is why the lamp was manufactured with built-in LED. The lamp can burn for 25,000 hours without needing to change the light source and only uses 8W. The lamp turns on at full power immediately and is therefore well-suited for use with motion sensors.
This designer lamp has a notable profile and history for when you want to give your home a treat - now also in an outdoor edition.
The AJ 50 outdoor wall lamp has a fixture head with a characteristic asymmetric shape, which is essential to the fixture’s light qualities. The fixture head on the AJ lamp can be tilted and turned 60 degrees from side-to-side. With its unique shape, the lamp is a modern classic.
A completely unique profile that is easily recognisable around the world with roots all the way back to 1960, when the SAS Royal Hotel was launched as a complete design that has since achieved cult status.
