The Bilboquet Sage Table Lamp is a beautiful new original design from 2023 by Canadian designer Philippe Malouin for the Italian lighting company Flos. The design-orientated appearance of the lamp is not only reflected in its elegant look but also in its innovative lighting technology designed with flexibility and usability in mind.
The lamp is inspired by and named after the classic French toy from the 16th century that is still recognised today: a string that connects a cup to a ball that you must try to catch. The lamp is equipped with a magnetic ball joint that connects the base to the lampshade and can be swivelled to adjust the light direction with the utmost precision. The lamp socket fits a GU10 LED light bulb. The light is relatively focussed and is therefore well suited for work, reading and other pursuits.
