Cesta Table Lamp Wood/White Opal Glass is an atmospheric lamp that was designed by Miguel Milá in 1962. Walking down the streets of Barcelona in the 1960s, Miguel came across an abandoned glass lampshade in front of a glass shop. He fell head over heels for this find that soon became the heart of the Cesta collection. ‘Cesta’ is the Spanish word for ‘basket’—designed to hold the “delicate” glass sphere.
The lampshade is supported by a lovely tree base made by European craftspeople using traditional steam-bending techniques and manual assembly. The distinct shape and function remain popular features in modern décor.
Although the simple design has more than 50 years to its name, the lamp is the ideal fit for modern décor. The soft light creates a cosy atmosphere in any home, and it can be used as both a table and floor lamp. The design of the lamp makes it easy to move the atmospheric light onto the living room shelf, the bedroom floor, or surfaces in your home office.
