BS5 Mini Wall Lamp Black - Beautiful, elegant, and unique! The Mantis lamps from Schottlander are a visual battle with gravity as we know it and with this collection, designer and sculptor Bernard Schottlander has managed to create a timeless and amazing product.
Bernard Schottlander was born in Germany in 1924 and moved to England in 1939. After having served in the British Army in India, he learned to weld and did an arts degree at Leeds College of Art, followed by the Anglo-French Art Centre in St John’s Wood, which he attended with a scholarship.
The Mantis collection was designed in 1951 but in spite of its age, the lamp is still perfectly suited for modern and classic homes. Nowadays, the lamp is made by DCW for Schottlander. Depending on the model, the head can be rotated 180° to 360°, as well as tilted. The black head on the Mantis BS2 standing lamp can be combined with a black or a grey body.
The collection consists of standing lamps, table lamps, and ceiling lamps.
