“Give me a lamp that would look great in a loft in New York,” Monika Mulder said to herself before she sharpened her pencil and started designing Mobil Floor Lamp Brass/Opal. She called to mind the American city with the distinct balconies and iron fire escapes that adorn the tall red-stone buildings in the bohemian neighbourhoods before continuing across the East River via Brooklyn Bridge, where she found the inspiration for Mobil.
A bohemian expression permeates the design, and just like Monika Mulder intended, the lamp has an elegance that is truly deserving of a loft in New York—but it looks just as stunning in minimalist and traditional Scandinavian homes.
