Patroclo Glass/Steel Table Lamp is a 1975 designer creation by architect and designer Gae Aulenti for Italian lighting manufacturer Artemide. The ingenious construction of mouth-blown glass and metal creates a harmonious whole and a marvellous interplay of light and shadow when you turn on the lamp, magnifying the design effect and filling the entire room with a beautiful glow.
During the manufacturing process, the glass is blown directly into the metal casing to give the impression of a fused unit. Behind the two lampshades, the light source is just visible. As both lampshades are transparent, the lighting is clear and diffuse at the same time. The lamp is particularly suitable as accent lighting in the living room, where it provides a pleasant ambient light while the beautiful design is visible to guests and visitors.
