This lamp is a simplified model of a lamp that PH drew in 1929. Back then, the lamp brought in the highest distinction at the World Exhibition in Barcelona. Throughout the years the metal lamps have been produced in a range of sizes and colours. The PH 4/3 collection lamps were among the last lamps that Poul Henningsen designed before his death in 1967. The PH 4/3 metal pendant in its current form was introduced in 1966.
The PH 4/3 pendant was designed with a reflective multi-shade system based on the of a logarithmic spiral - the focal point of the light source is located in the centre of the spiral, producing soft, diffuse and glare-free light.
