Poul Henningsen designed his first lamps as early as 1925-1926 for an exhibition in Paris. His collaboration with Louis Poulsen lasted until his death in 1967. Throughout his life, Poul Henningsen endeavoured to create glare-free light, directing light where it was needed and creating soft shadows using the incandescent bulb as a light source. Poul Henningsen designed the PH Snowball in 1958, where it was displayed alongside the PH 5 at the Museum of Decorative Arts. However, the PH Snowball did not receive any attention on this occasion and was only relaunched and produced from 1983. During the exhibition in Paris, the PH 5 stole all the attention, which meant that the PH Snowball was put on hold and only relaunched 25 years later.

The PH Snowball is an exciting multi-shade pendant lamp that can be used for general lighting in smaller rooms. The placement of the luminaire's eight lampshades and their curvature create a special light characteristic that emits a diffuse and glare-free light.
