The traditional lampshade has been replaced with a retro cage shade with a beautiful elliptical shape that is open at the bottom for a direct downlight. Cage shades have gained great popularity in recent years. The shape and design has a vintage-inspired feel, but is still kept in a simple expression that suits both classic and modern interiors.
When the light is switched on, the shade's grid pattern casts a mesmerising play of light uniformly all around the lamp. As the light source is visible, you get clear and direct illumination from all sides. The light source is a central part of the visual expression of the lamp, so it's a good idea to choose a decorative light bulb. Alternatively, you can choose a frosted light bulb for a softer light distribution.
