Space Copenhagen

Space Copenhagen is a relatively young design company, having been established in 2005 by Signe Bindslev Henriksen and Peter Bundgaard Rützou. They both graduated from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts School of Architecture. They are famous (and infamous) for defying habits and making an impact with an honest and personal vision for their design.
Space Copenhagen has worked on a wide range of projects, from interior design, furniture, sophisticated objects, artistic installations, but they have also acted as art directors. These very different tasks clearly show the breadth of their capabilities and illustrate their ability to embrace different tasks, all solved with the same passion and voracious appetite.
Space Copenhagen's amazing portfolio of collaborations includes &Tradition, from which the beautiful new classic Como SC53 and the iconic Copenhagen SC6 pendant comes - as well as the Collect SC series of home accessories including rugs, carafes, vases, pillows, candleholders and much more. In addition to &Tradition, Space Copenhagen has also worked with GUBI, where the Howard series was born - and most recently Mater with the delicious bar stools.

Poetic modernism
'Poetic modernism' is what Space Copenhagen calls their approach to the world of interior design, art installations, furniture and lighting. Balancing modern and classic, the two founders shape their dynamic designs, the majority of which have become so-called neo-classics that have earned a place on various design pedestals. The portfolio of projects includes, among others:

Space Copenhagen and &Tradition
Since their first collaboration in 2013, when the SC1 Fly series was born, the legendary &Tradition has worked closely with Space Copenhagen - and in both the lighting and home interior departments, this has resulted in several great designs.
The Copenhagen lamp series also comes from this collaboration and really cemented Space Copenhagen's ambition and, not least, skills in lamp design - which was continued in the iconic &Tradition Como SC53, which is both extremely elegant and practical.
